about

The Royal Organ was recorded during a series of sessions in August 2003 in Stockholm. The Royal Organ is related and dedicated to the late Swedish King Carolus XII (1682-1718) who is totally mythologized and who has been and still is a focal point for extreme political ideas.

During his reign, Sweden reached its peak as a nation of great power and became one of the biggest countries in Europe. That created an image which still keeps many people yearning and dreaming for a new era of grandiosity and power.

The King and his 30.000 soldiers were defeated outside Poltava in Russia and the great Swedish dream of total power over the world was destroyed. Carolus XII died in Norway 1718, shot in the head by God knows who. Sweden was totally devastated and bancrupt because of all war projects out in Europe. A great deal of the male population was killed on the battlefields or were held prisoners of war in Russia. The Swedish people were totally exhausted and on their knees with misery and poverty. They hated the war and the assassination of the King at last stopped the endless fighting. The country needed to be rebuilt.
